Listening to every heart
When you look upon matters as Godís gift
those matters give you more than a lift
so here is a gift I hereby gift you now
donít ask me ďwhyĒ and donít ask the ďhow.Ē
ĎTis nothing as complex as an unsolved riddle
but meeting somewhere, perhaps, in the middle
Ďtis something that frequently can be taught,
Ďtis something that at certain times can be bought.
The gift I have roams in my lifeís blood
pouring from my soul as if from a flood
and for this gift I am richer by far
if this gift is in you, you know who you are.
But better it is when itís a gift thatís given
something that gives a slight grant of heaven
so do not ask any more searching questions of me
when you sell your soul, Iíll sell my poetry.
