Hamilton, Ont. Canada
I dreamed last that I could fly
and dance upon the fickle wind
and ride the updrafts to the sky
and spin back down to earth again.
That I touched wings with many friends,
the petrels, gulls, the eagle brave
and glide and soar above the land,
then rest on rolling swells and waves.
I felt that none could fence me in,
not body, soul, nor spirit mind,
a freedom of profound intense
that tears of joy formed in my eyes.
Rebirth! If just for one lone night,
a dreamscape to another world,
with envy I now realize
that this...is how the Phoenix felt.
