My Source

What is this joy that I now feel,
A happiness before not known,
With whom did I strike up this deal,
Is it for real or just a loan?

What is this joy within my heart,
Am I deserving of this peace,
Not now, but when are we to part,
Or when will time devoid this lease?

What is this joy from nowhere come,
It's source, I try, but cannot find,
A hand stretched out, my heart to strum,
And only asks that I be kind.

What is this joy that came to me,
That brightens up my every day,
That lets me live so happily,
I only hope it's here to stay.

Sorry to post this again, but I had just posted this when Open Poetry #2 was created and I have no idea where the original Open Poetry is.

You are my strong melody.
You are my dancing rythm.
You are my perfect rhyme.
And I want to sing forever.
You're my beautiful, my sweet, sweet song.
I will sing again.

I know what you mean. I had really liked this the first time I saw it and still do and I was just starting out in these forums when they closed #1. Hate to repost myself..but doo-doo happens.

I liked this, glad you reposted, for I missed it last time around.

Glad to see you're still writing. While rather elusive, this poem seems both confused and direct, alluding to something yet unseen, etc, etc. Well done (as opposed to rare? How about charbroiled?). By the way, where do you get your ideas?

Where do I get my ideas? Most of the time my poetry stems from boredom. I just reflect on what I'm thinking about at the moment, how I feel, or just an idea that pops into my mind. Most of the time when I begin writing I start with a single line and go from there. Unfortunately I like to experiment with all sorts of rhyme shemes and meters that don't really add to the poem. So that's that.
