That said, every time I post something, whether a response or a new topic, I (yes, me too) am redirected to a blank page that hates me and everything I stand for.

In DM, I got sick of using six speed back button and decided instead to try refreshing the page...which of course led to the posting of the same response three times.  Go figure.

FIX ME!!!

Wait...no...that would be bad for my future children.  Can you fix my computer glitch?

I gather it's one of the later versions of Netscape, owned and operated by AOL.  Netscape has been stupid since v5.  I'd recommend Firefox.  With FF, you can set which pages are allowed popups (like piptalk.com) and which cookies to keep and for how long (like piptalk.com).   Also, spywareblaster works great with IE and FF for loading blocked url lists and cookie bans.

It's not a browser issue, but rather a security issue. Internet Explorer does the same thing and there are a couple of threads in Bug Swatter about this known problem. I think Balladeer was the first to raise it, shortly after IE 6.0 came out.

When you post something, whether new reply or comment, the system prints a page to let you know you succeeded. Feedback, so to speak. That's probably not where you want to be stuck, however, so that same page includes a meta-refresh set to something like ten seconds, which should automatically redirect the browser back to the thread or forum. It takes you where you probably wanted to go. Unfortunately, redirects can also be used to take you where you DON'T want to go, so many modern browsers now include settings to completely disable those redirects. You need to track down that setting, looking for something referencing refresh or redirect, and change it.

what is that phrase, exactly?

...peace, justice, and the pursuit of all things shiny...

maybe?

Netscape is still stupid.  Maybe I'll just run two versions of IE and see if that works.
