Software problems are rarely sporadic and almost never random. What y'all are describing is almost certainly a connection problem. A good way to verify that is to visit our new Troubleshooting Guide in the Member's Area. The form there does a diagnostic check of your computer and connection, including what's called a trace route between Athena and your modem. If you're having connection problems, it could potentially take two or three minutes to run the trace, so please be patient.
Once you're in, the IP trace is the last prompt on the screen. Look through the various line items, each of which represent an IP "hop" along your path to our web server. If you see asterisks on one or more lines, instead of a number, that's where the problem is at. If you fill out your name and problem and Submit the form, Athena will mail both you and me a report. Maybe between the two of us we can determine if that is, indeed, the problem.
