There he is again! Just standing to my right: a few feet back. This is the fourth time in three days. I wonder what he wants. Should I ask him? But I’ve made up my mind it has to be five times now, otherwise they just interfere and never leave me alone. Half the time I cannot even connect them to anyone. Take that time with the person who turned out to be Carol’s father. I had no idea who he was, startled me the first time, standing in the hall when I came out of the kitchen. I saw him three times in two days: first day once at home and then in the shop  of all places. The next day in a different room at home again. Each time I asked him what he wanted. He never replied. It was not until later that evening when I went out, bumped into Carol’s daughter, and saw him standing behind her that I realise exactly who he was! I wondered at the time if he was trying to get me to pass on a message but was confused because he would not speak. Later, I realised that Carol’s daughter had needed to ask me a question and he was probably just making sure we did not miss each other.

This smiled me wonderfully, Claire. Thank you!
