Really, I Understand
By Larry Chadwick
Confidence is not wasted on the young

How quickly we forget the angst of times gone by. When young at heart our passion was driven by innocence. Disappointment seemed to be always just beneath the surface and uncertainty its twin.  Then, we were confident, except when we weren’t. Boldness turned to near panic in an instant. An instant that could last for days. If it were not for ecstasy gloom would have been unbearable. The hardest part of life was the that nobody understood. It makes me wonder what it was to be “sweet sixteen”.

I know that the challenges of youth seem to be hard in any era. But when any era is distilled to the essence, it all seems to be about our heart. It is there we have the potential to bridge the generation gap. If only we could remember that which we have chosen to forget. Our angst of times gone by. Those were the “good ol’ days”. And they will be again.

It's so good to read your writing and the depth of your thought once again.  I don't seem to get around here much at all, as my work schedule has changed, requiring lots of long hours, but when I saw Larry C., I knew instantly my time would be well spent.  I love your writing, Larry!  This needs a big Bump up!  Bump!

"But when any era is distilled to the essence, it all seems to be about our heart."    my favorite line... but everything was written just perfectly.

Miscie,
How delightful it is to see you here. All of us seem to be so busy that it means much to me that you stop long enough to respond. And such kind words with which you inspire. Thank you.

Kacy,
Hey sis! I can't believe you moved so far away. All is well and for you too I pray. And thank you for your kindness.

M,
And that's what is so fun about you dear friend. Thanks for the visit.

Copperbell,
And I like solidarity too. Thanks.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
