In Pursuit of Moon Beams
By Larry Chadwick

I was racing moon beams tonight. Perhaps the moon had an unfair advantage. I am not sure if it was the elevation or the angle. But no matter how much I accelerated I found myself behind. They were parallel moon beams riding on the tracks. At some point I conceded I was not racing moon beams at all, I was actually chasing them. There is much more satisfaction in chasing moon beams. Because then I have won before I even started. I lost the same pursuit with my shadow when I was three and found the lesson much more pleasant at fifty-six. It seems chasing memories is much like that, more satisfying at a leisurely pace. I find now I don’t mind slowing down.

I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Wow.. Larry.. you always amaze me at how you can take just about any subject and create this great moral story out of it.. it's almost like a parable.. comparing one thing to another.. making me hang on every word. I loved this..

Great job!

I find myself doing circles lately too and get satisfaction in just knowing I got back to the starting point.  Enjoyed the read, and Happy New Year to you and Nancy Lee by the way.  I have been SO busy it's nuts.  Take care.

Heather,
You are a truly kind person. Thank you for such generous words.

Karilea,
Thanks for taking the time to read. We were sick through the holidays. I am well and Nancy is recovering and thanks you for the greeting.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane,
I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.
