This summer I sold a few poetrybooks, `round eighty of them.

I was cycling thru a middle-class Finnish neighbourhood.

On a terrace there was this British guy, I started my monologue "Anteeksi, että häiritsen, olen Järvenpääläinen runoilija ja markkinoin esikoiskokoelmaani Lauluja Marginaalista.."

Here he interrupted me.

"I`m sorry, but my Finnish isn`t that good"

I was impressed by his accent and so I told him

"You sound like a genuine British" to which he laughed mildly, in a completely restrained upper-class manner.

We talked about Pierre Bourdieu and the differences of classwar between our countries, where I suggested him that the only real upper-class in Finland is the Finlandsvenska,

Here he looked away with some contempt, and I stopped about the subject.

He told me that in Finland "Work is god" I had to agree.

His wife arrived, a Finnish painter.

She decided to buy my book, paid 25 euros, and we talked about artistic synergy.

I dedicated the book to the osmosis of the crosscultural portal of polyesteristic proportions, and added a poem of mine I happened to remember, it went :

I live on the nth floor

the stairs go on forever

the lit dustflakes play in the corridors of evening

Twilight lingers, like her shadowed fingers

dare not let go.

After I left the yard I thought :

Now there was a real Prince.

Well, dang, I wish I had thought of that first!

I like the nth floor line as well...

I'm behind Krawdad in wishing I had thought of that!
