One day a man was walking down the road and saw a coca can.  He wanted to make a life for himself so he started collecting cans.  When he tried to pick up the can it would move out of his reach.  He followed the can for years and would blindly pass by other potential cans that he could use instead.  The man was determined to have this can.  It really wasn't that good of a can; it was beat up and had a lot of wholes.  Yet his blind passion for this can, kept him on his course.  One day the can led him to a field of coca cola cans, for miles and miles the cans were covering the ground.  It was almost if God had shown the man that there were other and better cans out there.  The old beat up can kept going and rolled over the other cans in the field and finally passed the field.  Right before the now old man passed out of the field he stopped.  He took one glimpse back at the field and fell to his knees crying.  You see the old man ran his whole life after his dream, yet he had followed the first thing he came across.  His in ability to look at life through a bigger perspective caused his demise.  Then he remembered the can he had been chasing his whole life and turned back and looked at the horizon.  The can had stopped on the top of the next hill and then fallen into the earth.  The old man ran up to the hill and looked down at the spot the can had fallen into and saw a great fire in the pit.  Then a voice came up from the pit and said, “I have won, and I have defeated you and your God!!  Now you are too old to live your dream and will die a sad, unproductive old man!"  The old man ran after hearing the voice and hid in the shadows of the hills above.  Now full of fear and rejection the old man would never move from his comfort zone.  Never chase another dream or step out to live a better life.  He was defeated!!!

Its sort of a sad thing for me.  I only tend to write when I am upset, sad or frustrated.  I have a real hard time writing about times when I am happy.  I am hoping someone comes up with a challenge that will help me develop in that area.  Not sure what it is about writing.  I can write about love, but right now I am on a dry spell.  I am happy, not in love and living.  Mmmm... thanks so much for the read SEA!  Much appreciated.  I have gone back and read many from you.  I really like the imagery you use in your work.  It flows well and word choice is amazing.

Thanks

Josh

hey Josh,
you should try and write stories about happiness, that have a moral to them too...just not sad...like how doing good brings good back to you...how about something like that? and thanks for the nice things you said!

Yeah, interesting point!  I am not sure why I always coordinate the sadder stories with a moral message.  I will use that as a challenge.  Thanks SEA!
