Yes, this world is full of surprises. From time to time we all have our incidents and moments of self-concious doom. After all we're all part of the social fabrication that we call our 'time'. If all is boiled down, time is only a measurement of the earth oscilating and pulling the fancy moves around the sun. I for one find that every moment of life is a surprise. How can we call life: predictable? It doesn't make sense to me. How can we get bored of this never ending moment. I am vexed in contemplation as to how humans have created this society. It is truly wonderous.

On the subject; conciousness, the knowledge of mortality, our 'intelligence'. We kill insects that fly around our heads as if nothing more than a switch on the wall. It can be on or off, but as the life-form grows larger, mortality begins to become a factor. Why? I don't see mammals begging for mercy during their savage murder. My point being is that we never question our own thoughts. Why do we think the way we think. Why do we respect a human's life tenfold the life of another being?

Appologies if my example lays a little extreme. I'm not calling murder acceptable by any means. What i'm saying is that we all take what we've been taught as reality because it work's for us. It works in our advantage in every aspect, we shun those who strive to restore the earths' natural balance because it causes trouble within our economy. Apparently we won't be old enough to see the world's demise so let's take it the slice of the pie and enjoy the action. Hey - Everyone else does?

It's second nature to learn through the actions of others. I believe that our knowledge has lead us to a dark, dark time. We are too ignorant to think differently. Nobody knows differently, so why bother questioning a fact? The question is, is it really a fact? What is a fact? Who decides these facts? Why am i going to cellege to give myself a better future? Did someone decide that everybodies life is revolved around careers? Why are things so complicated? Have we gone too far? I think we have.

It's not an easy thing to challenge what we know, and it's nearly impossible to follow a different path because societies path has a safer pavement.
We can't revolutionize the world, the scars that mark the world are too deep. I suppose i think that questioning our own objectives and beliefs can sometimes benefit more than just ourselves in the long-run.

You know if you keep thinking that hard you are going to sprain something! Just kidding. But you are a deep thinker for sure. Interesting concepts. Peace...

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

wllz,

Don't find yourself alone in your thinking-I have pondered those very questions down to the death of a pesty fly!
You wrote your quandries well!  Enjoyed.

and yes, I think it comes down to our personal actions and attitude, too.  Can't change everything...Kind of reminds me of the Prayer of Serenity ...Change what you can, accept what you can't and ask for wisdom to know the difference

Sounds interesting...  Can we start with stryofoam?   Ah...  I've been trying to convince those with whom I work to stop using small stryofoam cups for each item of food.  We have plastic trays that have divided compartments to separate different types of food, but we don't use them.  We, also, have a sterilization unit set up so they can be reused.  (We feed about 500 a day.  Imagine the dumps filled with styrofoam if other large institutions do that.)  The word I received today is that many others use styrofoam trays because the detergents/solutions to wash the trays no longer is resistant to some bacteria and germs. Hm...  Food for thought!

As you can see your writing stimulated my thinking.  Thank you.
