i’ve never wished for anything. well, except on that one night where i wished upon a star because your hand was touching mine and i was fairly lovesick with the idea of believing in something. other then that, wishing becomes a nothing in the back of my heart. and then when i try to explain why the moon isn’t really made out of cheese, everyone looks at me like my faith is running out. which may actually, in truth, be the most real thing i’ve ever heard. but it’s hard to carry a bottle of hope and faith and love and even wishes when your hands are screaming to just drop everything and run away from the world.

so i’ve been waiting since i was eight. i’ve been waiting for the sunset to really speak to me every morning as i walked outside to wait at the bus stop with people who think they know everything but really only assume things like the way i tangle my fingers. i’ve been waiting for the time when my heartstrings will finally loosen up and let a little drop of love into their melody. i’ve been waiting for something alive; like those dandelions i picked when i was young. everyone tried to convince me that they were just weeds, but all i ever saw was a big yellow smile.

so, while the sun sets on another day; i'm waiting for those words that make me stay.

Please don't lose this mindset. It will make it so much easier for you to deal with life's problems. *hugs*

I enjoyed your prose a lot. I remember that feeling of wait. You've conveyed it well. I hope to read more of your writing.
