Back Burner, Kitty Kat!
August 6, 2004
For Lisa Reiman

Many years ago, when I first became interested in computer graphics, I found a black cat that just made my day, and my months and my years.  I’m not particularly crazy about cats, but this cat was special.
This cat glared and dominated.  He was powerful! He became the favorite of a massive collection of graphics.
Of course, he was duplicated, sized and sometimes even embellished.  He showed up at the home of one of the United States senators and all he said was, “GRRRRRR.”  The senator was absolutely delighted!  He loved the cat and loved what the cat said, and called me, babbling in delight about this silly card with one powerful kitty and one word inside. (Real joy comes to the mighty and powerful by way of the insignificant!)
Then the cat showed up with a bunch of buddies wearing red bows and the cat and his combined forces made a powerful statement. Again, the recipient loved it.
So the kitty went out on Easter, Christmas and especially Halloween.  Halloween was always his favorite because he got to take four kittens with him wearing orange bows and they got to say, “Happy Halloween, Jellybean!”
Well, this kitty sat in his place of honor in a frame on the wall at the foot of my bed for many years.  I admired him daily
Then, there was a special poem that came my way by someone who is very special and reached out by writing a wonderful poem just for me. So kitty had to give up his frame and move off of my bedroom wall because the poem holds a place of honor right above my computer and that’s the most worthy place for the poem because in essence, that’s where kitty was born.

So what is it about the poem you feel is so special?
