TODAY (9/06) Three years ago TODAY I was supposed to be celebrating an anniversary. Instead it was an Un-anniversary. That day my marriage of 26 years was over. A day I thought would never come, but there it was staring me right in my face. It is a date I can't forget for more than one reason. Besides it being the day I got married, and the day I got un-married, it is also my Mom and Dads anniversary, and a very close friend of mine also got married on that day. So that day I remember once a year. And even though it is both a happy and sad day for me, I did not to ponder on the Whys and What ifs, instead looked at TODAY and where I am now. I'm doing fine I've made it this far, and live my life day-by-day. I know what I'd like the future to look like. But I tried not to look ahead to something I can't predict. I cannot hope and dream, then later come up with disappointment. I also wouldn't want to disappoint. And the way things are in our World these days; it's hard to even think what tomorrow will bring. So for now I will take the sunny and grey days as they come, and let the future be. This is a "story" I am sure so many can relate to, and it is the anniversary dates that make the memories painful until you can turn it around and put something good to that date and either laugh, smile, or cry in a positive manner. If this is your own story, I wish your healing finds you, and all those years can mean also good memories to you. |
