Lying on the cold earth, she could hear nothing but her own breathing. She didn't know where she was or how she got there, all she knew was that she was cold and alone. She sat up, her eyes saw nothing but the moon. Her hair was tangled and her cloths were torn. Her head hurt and she wanted nothing more then to sleep again. She laid her head back down on the cool ground. She closed her eyes, the last thing she saw was a man approching.

She woke up, this time warm. She tried to sit up but felt a sharp pain in her side, she looked down to see a bandage rapped around her. She was wearing a silk shirt and skirt. She found herself in a warm bed with thick blankets. She laid there, wondering how she got to this place, as she closed her eyes once more she heard footsteps in the room. She opened her eyes to see the man from the forest.
"Hi." the man said, sitting on the side of the bed she was in. "Hi." she said, her voice weak. "How did I get here?" she said, trying to sit up. "Lay down, you really got hurt by the orlercs." he said, looking at her side. "Orlercs?" she said, putting her hand to her side. "Shadow creatures, they break you down untill you know longer wish to live, then use you as a slave." he said, lines of hate and fear appearing in his young face. "Why did they not take me?" she asked, looking to his face. "I don't know, the only reason I knew they attacked you is because of a fine layer of poison over your cut." he said, meeting her gaze. "So, what's your name?" she said, her voice getting stronger. "Mark, and yours?" he said, smilling at her. "Kat." she said, smilling back.
