Renewed by You By Larry Chadwick For my wife It happens for so many different events. But every time is equally exhilarating. I cannot decide if it starts in my heart or my stomach first. That little flutter in my tummy that bodes of excitement. And the instant acceleration of my heartbeat which confirms pleasure has already begun. All of that when you enter the room. Perhaps it is the quickened breath and instant smile, mirroring yours, just at your touch. It is a gift just to be in your presence. A gift that is never diminished no matter how often it is given. To lock eyes and to gaze, each time, deep into your sole, as if by open invitation, instantly restores all that is within me. And to do that consistently bears testimony to the meaning of our love and caring. Stunning is an adverb redefined by your presence. Peace and satisfaction are restored by your presence. Confidence is renewed by your presence. But the sparkle for the gem of all these things is to hear you laugh. To hear you sigh. To see you smile. To see you relax in the confidence of us. And incredibly, when apart, all of this can be recalled and relived in just a glance at a picture of just one of these precious moments. How I have grown to love being renewed by you. May 22, 2003 |
