Just once Id like my heart and my mind to be in agreement. My heart leads me towards something I desire, while my mind rationalizes why I cant have it, my heart doesn’t listen. The rift tears at me. I feel an ache in my chest, a desire unfulfilled. My mind argues against following where that ache leads. Both war within me, rending and destroying my inner peace. My heart demands fulfillment and promises sorrow if I don’t listen. My mind demands rationality and threatens to drive me crazy if I don’t follow. The conflict drives me to agony. Which path do I follow? Do I listen to my heart, or do I listen to my mind? Both paths lead to trouble and pain, but I cant stay where I’m at either. I have to trust one or the other, so do I trust what I know, or what I feel? I cant decide, and its tearing me to pieces. "The usefulness of a cup is in its emptiness, for a cup that is full can hold no more." |

This is a dilema as old as humanity, and is what makes us human, because we have the choice between heart and mind. The choices we make change with each situation, each choice brings with it, its own gifts and curses so I dont believe their is a right or wrong of it. Just my opinion, nice write you made me think which is always a good thing. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Olias. |
