Paralyzed in a Dream

Last night I was awake in a paralyzing dream. I could hear myself struggling to yell.
I could feel myself gasping for air. I could see myself stirring, trying to wake up.

In this dream I had lost something very precious to me. I also saw a friend I have lost contact with. I was wandering around looking for what I had lost, and saw him doing what he did before I lost touch with him. I had always looked at worker working on road constructions and would look closely at the surveyors and would say to myself, one day I will find him again. In my dream it happened exactly that way. I stopped and we talked for a long time getting caught up on time we had lost. I asked him if he had seen this thing I had lost, he told me he had seen it floating by and pointed me in the direction it was going. And just as he had appeared he also disappeared.

I headed in the direction he had pointed out. Eyes wide open looking in the trees, gazing at the sky, reaching through the clouds but I can’t find what I had lost. This cannot be I heard myself ask. How could I have lost this thing you gave me? This precious gift you took off of you for me to hold.

All of a sudden I saw it on the highest branch of the magnolia tree. Climbing up the tree I find out it is too high for me to reach. I start to panic; it is the start of the paralyzing struggle. I can hear myself struggling to yell. I can feel myself gasping for air. I can see myself stirring, trying to wake up.

When I was finally released from this paralyzing grip, I realized it was just a dream. And I found what in my dream I had lost. It was the Black Silk Scarf I keep under my pillow. I held it in my hand, breathed in the scent of you and fell asleep. With hopes of not to ever having that dream again.

Dreams are such odd things.  Sometimes they seem so real that when you wake up you think what happened in the dream actualy happened.  An enjoyable read.

This is a very gripping tale of a dream, or rather  nightmare.
