Sharon woke up to the melody of wind chimes outside her window.  She rolled over, reaching for Mike but he wasn't there.  Shaking off her morning sleep she remembered he had to go into work early that day.

Sharon could smell the scent of the freshly brewed coffee as it drifted on the crisp cool
Autumn air.  Mike was thoughtful like that.  He always made sure the coffee was ready.  She grabbed her robe from the hook on the back of the bedroom door and wandered down the hall into the kitchen.  She poured herself a cup of the aromatic
coffee and sat down at the table.

Her thoughts drifted back to a year ago when they had first moved deep into the heart of Texas.  She remembered how she had sat in the very same chair gazing out the window in reflection of how dismal life had seemed to become.

Life had changed so much since then.  Michael had become even more detached in the months following his transfer.  The company he was working for had made major cut backs and this affected Mikes hours dramatically.  Things had looked fairly grim for them.  Mike searched the papers endlessly for part time work to help them make ends meet.

Sharon remembered how he had found the advertisement that night.  A near by ranch was in need of an extra ranch hand.  Mike had grown up on a farm.  He was good at riding.  As a child he had always dreamed of being a cowboy.  Sharon smiled as she recalled how excited he became at the prospect of being able to make his childhood dreams come true.

Mike applied for the job the very next morning.  His hopes were high but for every day that the call didn't come she could see the twinkle in his eyes dying.  By the end of the week Michael was again becoming withdrawn.

She could picture vividly the Friday night when the phone rang.  She could here the excitement in Mikes voice when he said "Yes, I can start on Monday!"
Sharon noticed when he hung up the phone that the gleam had returned to his eyes.

The sun shone brightly though the window.  Sharon smiled as she remembered back on those days.  She pondered about just how much life had changed.  In her mind she wondered what was yet to come.

Karilea, thanks so much I got it.  And thank you for noticing the word "constructive"
it meant much to me.  I think I will spend some time in English workshop.  English never was my favorite class......lol.....
THANK YOU!!
