To a Good Friend:

I have decided, as you can see, to allow you to remain nameless in my public corrospondance with you.  You came out of your shell, it would seem, but some of the old fragments of that home remain with you unto this very day.  Annonymity, it seems, is still a close friend and intimate garment of yours.

I write to you regarding a recent concern you raised at our last meeting.  You were concerned that you wouldn't be able to come back for some time.  You were afraid that adverse circumstances, which, as you requested, I shall not name, would prevent you from attending our fine establishment once again next year.  I know what those circumstances are, as you well know.  Thus, I shall rend unto you the most broad of advice I can possibly give.  Patience.  Yes, patience is what you still must learn.

To be frank, you are an okay student, but a failure with respect to some of life's finer arts.  Patience, ironically, is not an art that is quickly learned, I'm afraid.  You must learn to walk a treacherous path calmly and happily.  Our God does not rush things.  He is patient, and expects his followers to follow him in kind.

So, in your struggles, remember the word I have advocated above all.  Your physical stature is not good, but you make a fine runner.  Slow down and experience this world.  Remember what we learned about the world.

Remember, there are other friendships to be had.  You may well find them in the darkest corners of your experience.

Sincerely yours,
Phillip Mont
