A State of Disarray

My mother told me a story of her mother and her sister.  It was a story of the origin of our psychic connections.

Mam's, my grandmother, and Nan, her sister, didn't speak for years.  Some slight had angered one of them and from that point they never spoke.

Til' one day...my Mam's was hanging laundry when her sister drove onto the ranch.  Nan walked to her sister and said...

"Stop thinking about me.  I haven't been able to get a damn thing done all day!"

I don't remember if my mother ever told me Mam's reply, but as my mother told it the accusation had been true.

...Now, my mother and her sister never speak.  My sister and I are the same.  In fact no one in my family REALLY speaks to one another...or do they?

I relate to this on many levels.
I have seen this in my own family,
though I wont say its a "psychic connection",
in thier case I think its matter of guilt speaking to them.
Interesting write amusemi, I like the part about the sister telling the other to stop thinking about her...that was so real to me.
I would enjoy seeing you expound on some of this more, perhaps writing of you and your sister...but of course only if your pen is so inclined or inspired.
take care

I also would like to see this as a short story. You could fictionalize teh rift between your grandmother and her sister and describe their lives, etc. It would make a good story!

An interesting terse little anecdote.  Perhaps you could have made it a little longer, filling in some more details?  It would have been interesting to read your take on a psychic experience.

amusemi,
an amusing story, I too would have liked to see it made longer.

Thanks  everyone.  I csn't believe this is still around!!

I will possibly make it into a short story sometime, however, I am finding it harder to find time....  It's a summer thing!

My favorite kind of story is the kind that let's you finish the end on your own.

This story has a Lady or the Tiger air to it.

I like it.

I guess what they say about silence being louder than words is true.  Very good write, leaves one to think.
