SINKING SUN

As sun sinks to rest he spreads a happy glow thankful in the heart of him another day has passed.  Free to wander in God’s realm beyond all human sight he regains his power from the moon so distant yet a part of strength he harbours in his soul to hold love in his arms and direct the path of destiny laid out in the plan.

Tender is the moon in her gentle warming glow as unbeknown to the sun she sketches in his hues that slowly turn to embers his hot and burning fire so he can look inside himself and know he’s not alone.   There he’ll find her spirit, a little speck of light, shining in the darkness so he can walk upright towards the throne awaiting him in sky of future lives.

Thrown together in eclipse of an immortal love their hands reach beyond their length and embrace in silent nights so when you see the moon with a smile upon her face know that the sun has sent his energy by way of shooting stars straight to her inner part.  Deep his flame of passion pulls her way beyond her course to settle her within his orb where no one’s been before so she may nestle in the folds of his protective shield and grow to maturity in the comfort of his calm.

Befuddled and bemused moon knows not what to do except to be herself and not change when August looms.  Yet she turns full face and honours all his grace then shrinks back inside herself till next he comes around but wouldn’t it be grand if humans on the ground were granted the privilege of a full moon every night?

Thunder is a jealous one, he roars out his distaste and lashes the sky with streaks of anxious ire for underneath the sound of him he shivers in his fear that he will be alone for the rest of his days.  But he will live forever and find pleasure in the heavens that grant him the freedom of a messenger.  Here and there he’ll wander telling tales of other days that made him humbly bow to the glory of a vow made by sun and moon as earth witnessed their hues.

But, oh, those shining stars so impish in their youth play cricket in the sky with sun and moon’s pure hearts.  Batting for a six, bowling for a duck and fielding on the outskirts they have their winning ways but even they in hindsight will take an extra run and declare their expertise claimed the prize of love.

And what of the angels, what is the game they play when teaming up the pair of them from worlds so far apart?  Maybe it’s to show there’s no limit to a dream memorized by heart and sung to tunes of need but perhaps in the sea they spread their loving seeds and nominate life’s currents as master of their schemes.

The master of life’s currents – he has a name I know and a portion of his soul he bestows to those his own but the sun and the moon still have to know it’s true and pay homage to his magic that gave us night and day!!
