(This is based on a beautiful dream I had; dreaming someday I can really have a love like this)

Snow Angels
By: Noah Eaton
10/17/01

I dreamed I woke up, holding the girl of my dreams
Early in the morning on a snowflake-dancing Christmas Day
We looked into each others eyes, saying how each others sleep was
Kissing her lips before we got out of bed together to look out the window

Wearing her silk snow-white nightgown, I put my arm around her
Smiling as we watch all the happy children jump and play
To see a merry christmas sprout about all the crystal-clear neighborhood
Watching the elderly hold children's hands and sing carols together

Until then we saw a sad little girl, sitting alone on her front porch across the street
With nothing but her coat and clothes to keep her warm and her kitten
Feeling the sadness for her, me and my girl walk downstairs to help her out
Hearing her cry alone to herself, sitting down beside to help her

My girl holds my hand, saying "Are you okay?"
She said she was scared, and she got lost from her parents, and she was scared she would never see them again
My girl hugs her close and promises her together we'll help her find her family
And I hold the little girls hand and ask her,
"Would you like to stay with us until you find your parents?"
And she through her tears said yes

She said she loves her parents very much and she got lost in a mall
Her parents let her go around the toy store, but she was curious and looked around
She began to cry and my girl hugged her, comforting her with care
Telling her she know show she feels, and she too was always curious as a little girl

We give her a woolen blanket and pillow as she sits down to watch her favorite cartoons
My girl asks her if she would like anything to eat or drink
She said "Yes please!" and we let her find some snacks to enjoy
Grabbing a Pepsi from the refrigerator and some homemade cookies

I ask her what her name was, and she said her name was Sarah Spring
I hug her close and tell her I promise we'll find your parents
She began to cry and told how scared and how worried she was
I try to help her, telling her how I understand, and soon this sorrow will pass

As Sarah laid down watching cartoons, I talk to my girl in another room
She began to cry, telling me how sad she feels for her
I cry with her, telling her I understand but promise she will have a merry Christmas
And gently I hold her close, kissing her lips and her forehead softly in compassion

The afternoon came around, as we called for help to find where she lives
Until finally an officer announced he did identify a Sarah in a Spring file
He said he'd call the home number to find out if they were her parents
As we leave the fireplace on, keeping her warm and comfortable

I sit beside her in a chair as my girl sits beside, reading her my favorite Christmas story
Watching her small innocent eyes twinkle with tears and a smile shined on her face
Hearing the story of Frosty the Snowman, and how he always comes back for the children every year
Telling her the morale of the story is miracles can happen, and magic can happen

She hugs us both, thanking us for being so caring and loving to her
Together we cry with her, telling her how special she's made our Christmas to be blessed to know such a sweet loving girl
My girl gets up and says she'll make a special dinner for us all
As I sit beside her, laughing and smiling with her as we watch sweet Christmas specials

Two hours later, as the sun began to go down, we sat together at the dining table
And together we prayed, hearing Sarah pray like a choir of angels in Westminster Abbey
She thanks us for a wonderful delicious dinner, and my girl says anything for you, sweet Sarah
As she hums in enjoyment tasting the scrumptous pumpkin pie sundae she tasted to the last spoon

All a sudden, we hear the door bell ring, and my girl walks over to answer it
Seeing a sweet mother and father standing there, asking if their dear daughter was here
My girl screams in delight with tears going down her face, saying "Sarah, your parents are here!"
And she jumps on her feet like a groundhog on the first day of spring, jumping in delight

She hugs us both close, saying she'll never forget us, and wishes us the happiest Christmas
In tears we wish her a merry christmas and the happiest new year, and she rushes to the door
Hearing her parents thank us ever so much, and they said "How could we ever repay you?"
And we say, "You already have; you have given us a special blessing and friend to cherish always!"

We wave her goodbye as she hops into her parents car, and drives away with them
We hold each other close in tears of joy, so happy to see her smile this Christmas
And beside the warm fireplace, I hold my love on the couch, kissing her happily
Thinking of the snow angel within her; the warm true loving spirit of Love And Giving...

Noah...I thought this lovely and genuine. I notice you do not wish for critique, however, but would love to see this re-written, as a "painting" of words....

Decribe, describe, entice all the senses of your readers---anticipate questions and answer them in prose...her gown? how did it look in contrast to her skin? What was the lighting? How did she smell? And most important, how did it make you FEEL? (And don't worry, I'm still trying to figure this stuff out too...but would love to see this more in depth. It's a gorgeous visual, my friend!

Noah; I have enjoyed this previously, but it was good to see it again.  That was quite a dream.  Wanda
