A young man sat under a sign at the crossroads,
the crossroads of his life.  He asked a familiar question one asks nearly everyday, "Should I stay or should I go?"  But what kept him from leaving was the decision of if he was to leave, which way would he go? He sat there podering to himself of what the long journey had come upon. He thought:

At sunset I realized my life was about to change when I saw in the distance a bend in the road.  I was scared to go ahead and continue my journey yet I wish not to turn around. For what is behind me are broken promises and regrets.  That of which I want not on my road of life ahead of me......but now I sit here wondering which way is ahead.  I am becoming dizzy of the choices, the options.  If then's run wild in my head causing my hair to stand on end.  If I turn left will I be right? Should I go forward or sleep here for the night?  And, if i can't decide which way to go, maybe I could live here from summer to snow.  Maybe I could find shelter with what I have around; a couple of twigs sticking up out of the sand and a large sign that says "CHOOSE" in bold letters.  The tone of this word, judged only by it's context, makes me feel uncomfortable.  Must I choose now? And again, If I do choose, how will I know it's right?.................... I can't choose! I can't CHOOSE! I will wait for the sun to rise tomorrow to bring light anew and until then I will hold onto what is familiar.

A smile shines softly on the young man's face as he lays down with his hand slowly sifting through the sand of the road.

"In this very breath that we take now lies the secret that all great teachers try to tell us."

We make choices everyday but hopefully those hard choices only come along occasionally when we are prepared and able to make them...James

Those kind of choices are never easy to make, but if we have the courage to choose the outcome may just surprise us.  You never know until you try.  Well done.
