My grandpa died this weekend.  I never really knew him, but we got to go up to Tennessee and Grandma gave us food people had brought over.  (There were a lot of desserts.)  Daddy says Grandma is manipulative.  Mom says Grandma gets offended too easily.  I just say "love her, hate her, but don't try to joke around with her."  I learned that the hard way.
I was concerned about schoolwork, but family politics are tricky; it seems when my mom says "Get to know your cousins," that includes talking, not just watching the Disney channel together.
Mr. ______ doesn't seem to agree with me.  At least, when he was talking about responsibility when missing class, he didn't seem to be in the mood to understand family politics.  But I didn't tell him I spent the weekend looking at a corpse, so I'll let it go and think about the horrors of too much dessert at Grandma's instead.

You've got a nice style my friend! Reads like a page from a journal. Glad I popped in here today!

Interesting.  I liked the diary-like style of your writing.  It almost comes off as part poem part prose, with the complete lack of narrative "fluff" here.  Good job.

Your brevity is showing, and that's a good thing. You packed in a lot of information and I felt as if I had been there for a glimpse of your day!  Well done!
