Please forgive me.  I am not content with this yet, and am re-writing it.  Since my twenty-four hours has almost run out, I have no choice but to take most of it out to work on it.  Thank you for your comments, Sunshine!

New wine cannot be aged in old skins, and fresh paint will not erase rust. As bloodied, torn hearts struggle to build new trust; worn spirits search for a better way, yet growing older by the day.

A cartoon figure easily peels itself off the highway in a flat sheet, and fills out instantly, to be whole again.  But that doesn’t work so well for living humans!

Living with emotional scars IS gazing through bars.
