Reflect

Wake!
Dream no more!
Return to me, I who would help you.
Wake, the remnants of sleepy horror will soon fade.
Be with me, the one who gives freely of his love.
Wake, for nightmares fear the light of day.
And it is I who protects you through the night.
Wake, I cannot share all that you see in darkness.
Allow me to illuminate your soul!
Wake, for it will not follow you into the realm of reality.
I will hinder its pursuit, provide you solace.
It is not as strong as it seems to be.
Together we can best it, defeat the evil!
Wake, for I can offer no more.
It is all I have to give.
Well, not all, there is perhaps more.
Yet it is a path I fear to tread.
Must I follow you?
Shall I sacrifice myself for you?
Will you not rise up from your illusions?
Wake!
Very well then, I have no choice.
I must follow.
I join you.
Here I am, before you, I am now of your dream.
Where is that which scares you so?
Is it here in this tangled weave of chaos that is you?
Will you show me?
I only mean to aid you.
There, around the bend of emptiness?
There lies the heart of your greatest fear?
I am not afraid.
Follow me, together we face it.
Behind me then, I will guard you.
Over here?
Why do you tremble so?
See, I have uncovered your fearsome monster.
It is only a darkened mirror.
This is the source of your terror?
How so, that this could cause you such grief?
See here, it can cause you no harm.
It moves not, no teeth to grab you unaware.
It is nothing more than a reflector.
It shows only that which it sees, unchanged.
Wake, we have revealed your monster, a nothing.
Rejoin me now, in the land of the living.
Still you fear.
Face it then, show me the cause of your terror.
Face your fear, face it or I will force you.
Don't scream so!
Quiet now, hush.
Turn more, there.
Now open your eyes, and we shall gaze together.
Open them!
Now, what is it you fear so.
Nothing.
Now let us...
That light, it is coming from your eyes.
It is cold, a chill luminesce.
Make it stop, no more!
Close your eyes, turn away!
This is what you have feared all along?
I too am afraid, but more.
I am cold.
Cold and weak.
Tired.
I shall go to sleep now, lay to rest, enraptured by my own fear.
Pray for me, for I am as surely trapped as you.
Wake!

Trapped indeed!! Oh my...let's hear it for more mind wanderings. Seriously though, this definately left me pondering, I'll have to read it a few more times.
