I am by far a "poet". Just a woman who likes to write poetry and read it as well, but I think my purpose of writing is to see things in a different light. That is when I feel I have accomplished something with my writing. When/if I can take an ordinary thing, feeling, or occurance and define it in a different way - make a less thought about part of it stand out.

Honestly, most of my purpose is just to be able to reflect on life - maybe their is release in that, but thats not my main purpose.

Very enlightening, and well said.

I like your theory about taking a 'minor' part of something and making it stand out. Sort of like writing a poem about the way the wind blows the sheets on a clothesline. Very good!

First, Welcome to Passions in Prose!

Very well said and concise, from the heart I think.

Moonlight, I like how you asked, 'what if I could define it in a different way?' That is something I've always loved to find beauty in when I am reading poetry! I love to find such simple things explained and defined with beauty!
