You can not lay the blame of violence in public schools on any one person, or thing. It is a combination of problems in this world; TV, lack of teaching, and solitude are three examples of the cause.
Not saying that TV is a big issue, but it doesn’t help. All that the teens, and even younger, see on TV is people shooting other people, and many other acts of violence. It almost makes you believe that killing someone isnt real… I mean how many times have we seen Kenny die? Yes. A silly question! It’s a cartoon right? It’s only the most watched cartoon by teens. That and Beavis and Butthead, there is surely no violence on that one, right? No, TV is not the main source of error, it is the choice of the child on their actions, but what have they seen all of their life?
When the terms “lack of teaching”, are being used, it is meaning the lack of moral teaching, what is right and wrong? How many kids today have had a single, full time working, parent, or both parents working? This isn’t a bad thing, but some of the parents get so wrapped up in work, the children wind up raising themselves. Never learning the difference of right and wrong, showing no remorse of anything.
Solitude is the one that is a big issue, having no friends, or no one to talk to at all is complicated. Think about it, you have a major problem, you feel totally screwed over and there is no one you can talk to and vent out on… what would you do? Feel outcast? Alone? No one to turn to? Would violence be the answer? Maybe, or maybe not, its up to you, but if that’s all you have seen… and it looked good on TV, seemed to solve all of their problems. You also haven’t been taught that murder is bad, so, under these circumstances, who knows?
There are many other possible reasons for violence in school, but who knows the real reason. If only we could make a machine that reads minds. There is no one thing to pinpoint the reason of violence in schools, just many ways to try and prevent them. What will you do?
