I'm curious--why is the box for "inappropriate content" already checked off?

I found that confusing when I first saw it. Shouldn't it be like, with any survey, a blank square box, until otherwise designated?

I've been here awhile, and although I have a reputation for being confused, don't you think that having a red check mark in a box marked inappropriate content might confuse a new visitor to our forum?

I mean, it's like a negative red flag or something.

I don't like it.

I realize it's just an icon. YOU realize it's just an icon. But it is a confusing icon. (And if this has already been discussed elsewhere, my apologies for bringing it up again.)

But if I were the type to offer e mail as evidence, I could provide proof that it is a confusing icon, as I have already received a number of e mails from members asking me why their poem was deemed inappropriate. (Like I'm an expert on "inappropriate" or somethin'. )

Seriously tho, I do think it's misleading, and don't understand why it needs an icon at all. As I reply, I see dictionary.com underlined at the top of my screen, and even without a little teeny dictionary icon, I understand that if I click on it, I will be forwarded to a page that offers definitions.

Y'see? So c'mon, Ron...

At least take the little red check mark out of it.

Any attorney or marketing specialist will tell you about the power of suggestion, and that red check mark suggests guilt, however subtle and subliminal.

It IRKS me.

I agree it is confusing. When I first saw it, I thought someone had checked it suggesting MY post was inappropriate!
If you do away with the checkmark, it almost makes sense.

I'm glad we got this figured out, because I was deeply and profoundly upset that my content was inappropriate!

Nah, just kiddin'. I think it is a valid point, though. It might confuse a select few, and we don't want that, do we? Seeing as how we need more poets and poetry!

Oh, and K?

We all know your inappropriate-ness (if that's even a word) comes with warmth and love. heehee!

As evidence, I offer you exhibit A:
/pip/Forum75/HTML/001343.html

Now tell me, what is wrong with that picture?

And chuckling too, at the "coincidence" of the message of the poem.

Coincidence or Providence?

"Choose thou," Ronnie baby!

Now c'mon...just wave that magick wand and make that little red check mark disappear. I admit I might be deserving of such, but there are too many others here who do not, and their poems might not be read and enjoyed by someone just browsing through the forum.

please?
