Does anyone on here know a legit contest on the internet for entering poems? im just asking coz im tired of entering and then saying*i won* yet i have to go to this convention to pay money out my butt to get my so called trophy* and on another note,i was looking into getting a poetry book together i already started my manuscript with over like 200 poems in there. anyone know any good places to start going with that? thanks for your time and sorry to be so off topic here.

Hey foxy - for one thing - right here in PIP we have book publishings.  We just published one - you can submit a poem there - I am unsure when the next one will come out - that would be Ron's call.

Here is a link to the info:

/pip/qview/reflections.htm#where

Reflections on the Web is where you post your work

Hope this helped - as for the entire web
I wouldnt try a source unless definitely
recommended by someone you know well and has been through that process.

There's never an off question, Foxy.  Passions in Poetry is about to launch our third Anthology.  We submit poetry, we allow our peers to vote, we get a chance to vote for ourselves, and others, and on a very intricate voting method, selections are made, and books are published.  I am sorry that you came in so late to be part of the third anthology, but if it's our third?  Chances are, there will be a fourth.

The great thing about this is...you don't have to go to a convention; you don't have to purchase the book to be "in"; all you HAVE to do is sign an agreement that you allow YOUR poetry to be in the book.  There is simply no cost to you AT ALL unless you wish to purchase a book, or more!!!

So, stick around.  When the next one comes about, you'll be part and parcel of the poets that will be exhibiting their works to be part of Passions, #4....

Your welcome . .

Try this book:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1582971242/qid=1055654006/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/103-4814958-1664613?v=glance&s=books

This is a wealth of information - legitimate - that gives you the huge publishing houses, magazines, anthologies, chapbooks etc.  They describe each and every requirement as far as types of poetry - what you can be paid etc etc - I have it - is an amazing resource but you must be serious about submitting - it is a tedious process to nitpick through the publishers and you still have to be careful.  Good Luck Julie and yes please stick around for the fourth edition here.

for spelling problems do as i do,, i write all my work in e-mail and use spell check. it's not 100% in some instantances but works for me... or use any word processor..

after you spell check paste n copy to post
