I've been kicking around the idea of putting the entire Iambe/Travis series of pieces I have written into some sort of collection...but would like to have them illustrated as well... anyone interested in at least thinking baout such a project?

I'm not yet sure I can and will committ to it, but thought I'd see if anyone here had the artistic talent I don't and might be interested in discussing it...

If so... leave me a reply and your e-mail...

If not.. LOL.. this will sink into oblivion pretty fast.. and I'll know what sort of idea this was anyway...

thanks

This is a VERY GOODidea!!!!!!!!

and right a this moment the moths fingers could bleed that they are not artistic..
cant even draw flies
BUT....to have all the Iambes in one place...
me thinks I'd go to art school

Illustrated or not...this is a very good idea. The moth said so...ya gonna argue with that?

Tell ya what...give me the weekend and I'll see if anything comes to mind...

I work in charcoal and chalk pastel--sometimes pencil. Any preferences?

Cool idea Ron!  If you imagined Travis and Iambe looking like Homer and Marge Simpson, then I'd be happy to illustrate the book!

It is good to know how you see them Duncan... very indicative of how well I write description and character... perhaps I should let you take a crack at it..at least then it would be an honest interpretation of the way the reader is going to see what they read.

I'm artistic.. yep.. Iambe... Um.. Could someone give me a few more hours to add to the end of each day? I'll be needing at least 12 extra ones five days a week..

This sounds like a great idea, Cap'..

Probably a good idea, and yet? I enjoy your fantastic descriptive writing mixed with my imagination's palette and brushstrokes. I've done portraits in pencil, charcoals, oils, and yes...even crayon but one of the things I love most about poetry and prose over visual presentations is the way it triggers and involves the mind of the reader.
Guess I'll be devils' advocate here and say NO visuals for me, as they actually interfere with my creative interpretation.
(which are not the same as Duncan's)

I'm having problems drawing that truck!

groan...I can SEE it in my mind's eye, but don't know that my style is strong enough, and egads, I'm about as rusty as that picture of the Ford Chevy!

still trying tho, but egads, how MANY of these would you want?

So... if I can get in tough with Elizabeth, I'll pass the torch on to her.

(she IS very good, yanno) sigh.

chuckle...as of right now? I need to go buy a new kneadable eraser...groan, I forgot my kids used the last ones like silly putty...

Ron, the first of these sites offers on-line purchase of illustrations - and offers a huge amount of choice. http://www.theispot.com/
The second one is where you can locate an illustrator to work with you on your publication. http://www.illustrationweb.com/

Just an idea though - when someone I know did small children's book here, they went to the local college and approached the artists in 2nd, and 3rd year classes there.  See, those are the "starving artists" you want not the ones that zing you good!  Vocational schools are a great resource for everything including the best darn bread I have ever tasted   Good luck and I want to buy one when this is done too.
