I am trying to find the words to a poem I heard years ago and I can only remember some of it. Am I allowed to post part of that poem here? If I put the authors name in as well, is this permissible?

Thanks,
Maeve

You can post the partial words to a poem here as long as you give credit to the author of the work - We'll see if we can find it for you.

You might also go to http://google.com and type in some of the words to the poem.  You might just find it through a net-wide search.  Good luck..

I tried advanced search on google and a couple of others but didn't find it.

The poem, Dawn's Lady, was written by an Australian, Jean Oppermann. So I thought an Aussie on here might recognise it.
The bit I remember is.....

Sleep my lady of the dawn
quiet thoughts while the moon slips deeper
be not gentle or forlorn
for you are the nights quiet keeper.

It may not be exactly right as it is a long time since I've heard it.
Thanks for your help.
