Listening to every heart

In a few weeks I will be giving a poetry reading... are you ready?... for my granddaughter's third grade class, at the request of her teacher.  Keeping "third grade" in mind, please, PLEASE let me know if you would be interested in allowing me to read any of your material to what could be some of our future's poets.

If you do care to share any poetry that I may be allowed to read to these students, please keep in mind their age bracket, 8-10.  I will be glad to provide you ANY feedback that I receive on your submission.

This is a wonderful opportunity to share your poetry with children who are eager to color the world.

Thank you.

Yes, Kit, I plan to give you all a full report.  I had made the offer early in the school year....the teacher, Mary Lamb [no jokes, guys!] called over the weekend and said she hadn't procrastinated [much] but the timing in the second week of May seems to be working out just fine...testing will be done, and the kids will have a chance to "loosen up".

Now, if I can just figure out what pieces of mine might be "appropriate...."....THAT's the tough part!

You folks are great!  The two days were a success!

You made smiles....one of you even made an "ewwwww....."

Thanks everyone!  Believe it or not, between you and me, I spoke an hour straight each day, and had plenty left to go....

who knows?  Between all of us....we may have sparked some hearts!
