Hello; My name is Janice. I have a very special favor. Is there some way that I can have someone write us a poem about the life of our daughter Jennifer? She has just passed away, on August 23, and we would like to publish it in the paper for Jennifer's birthday, on November 6.

Can you help us?

Janice, please let me say that I am so sorry for your loss. I would be pleased to help you honour the life of your daughter in this way.

Do you have an e-mail address where we could communicate more easily? If you do not, that's OK, we can utilize this forum. I would need you to be able to share some of your thoughts with me.

Again, please accept my sincerest sympathies during this difficult time,

/Kit

Janice~
I'm more than pleased to offer this poem
for your use on Jennifer's birthday.
It was originally written for a young friend that I lost in 1984.
Her name was Shelly and she was very near and dear to my heart.
I've adjusted it to fit your Jennifer.

My thoughts will be with you on this day.

===============================================

Remembering Jennifer

An angel lived among us
for much too short a while.
Yet when we think about her
it still causes us to smile.

We see her on the sunrise,
as fresh as the morning dew.
Learning to live without her
is the very hardest thing we've ever had to do.

Sometimes the joy in remembering
might cause a tear to fall,
But the smiles outnumber the tears
if you knew this angel at all.

Today is Jennifer's birthday,
Though this birthday she will not see.
We'll still celebrate her birth
for the joy she came to be.

Happy Birthday, baby !
Thanks for the memories.

--- A Mourners Pledge ---

Every day a parent's child,
Leaves before their time.
One dark day this August
That beloved one was mine.

Every day since you've been gone
The sun still warms the sky.
The wind still blows, the flowers grow,
Every day I wonder why.

I watch them out the window.
I watch them hurry by.
Don't they know our daughter's gone
Don't they ask God why.

Before that August day I was
Among those rushing by.
I did not know you'd lost your love
I did not see you cry.

Now I know your pain dear friend
I know what you've been through
Instead of each alone dear friend
Let's join and now be two.

'Cause in the morn the sun will rise
As it has for many years.
The sun still rises every day
Despite the mourners tears.

We'll hold on tight to those who weep
We'll help them through the dark.
And get them to the place and time
Where life regain's it's spark

Jennifer, we miss you so
You had so much to give.
We'll always have you in our hearts
While helping others live.

To all the others loved and lost
We share your loved ones pain.
We know how bad they hurt for you
We'll help them live again.
