Anyone have votes on who they would consider poets who write in the "Beat Generation" style?

I'm sure my question may have been ambiguous and/or unclear...  It was one of those "If you know what I'm talking about you will answer" questions...

"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked,
dragging themselves through the negro streets at dawn looking for an angry fix,
angelheaded hipsters burning for the ancient heavenly connection to the starry dynamo in the machinery of night ... "
- Allen Ginsberg (The Howl)

Hi JP,
I had to do a final presentation on the beats last year for a class! I researched the big three for weeks...They were certainly a busy bunch!
You will probably have to go to the adult forum to find any authors that write in the same style as they did!
Good Luck, I'll keep my eyes open for candidates!

I agree with Serenity,
Bsquirrel has a similar style, I especially liked, "The Electronic Eye and "Deemed inoffensive by those in power".

beat??? um umgahwa, the beat has got the powha! hehe....

well, beats me!! hehe... i mean, MOI???

THANK all those who mentioned my name... i'm flattered... love the era!! keroac and ferlinghetti, oh my god, i sure am ready!! *wink*.... but WE are not BEAT, we are the NET GENERATION and we are here to stay...

but... JP, some of the poets here write in different styles at different times but at some time or another, all of those listed here, IMHO, have been influenced by the big Beat of ginsberg & the like... even though 'tis possible they all may not admit to it... lol....

try these:

corinne, haze, trevor, brad, passing shadows, local rebel, brian madden, bsquirrel, ryan, jbowie, desperado, sunshine, corazon, serenity, and martie

and i *KNOW* there's more and if i think of them... i'll come back... and if i skipped anybody who clearly knows they have been influenced by this era of writing, please forgive me.... it's late... or is it? aw hell, it's just later than we all think, y'know? so let's get to writing some really great poetry!!!

**** oh, and you might wanna add yourself, y'know??

what's the scoop? gonna beat us up for it? lol...

ok... don't wanna write? how 'bout a conga line to the tune of a hawaiin song.... everybody sing along....
