What do you want to say to her? Write a list of phrases that describe what you want to say.. maybe we can create a poem just for her!

I care for her, she is one of the most beautiful creatures I've ever laid my eyes upon, and I seem to grow restless when I don't talk to her for a good chunk of time. One problem that we have is that I'm married. I guess that's why I'm having problems coming up with a poen just for her.

I have a poem for this request -

I have a loving wife at home
who treats me very kind.
One who expects I won't go chasing other women
or have them on my mind.

I expect for her to be
true to only me ...
So I'll be just as true to her
as I'd want her to be !

I'll write my wife a pretty poem
to tell her what's in my heart ....
Ta-ta, 'other'woman ...
Sorry ..... we have to part !

Sorry but you know what? As soon as you mention that you have a wife and want a poem for another woman, I think you'll have to write it on your own.

I know I wouldn't want to help destroy a marraige. Sorry!

I'm with WhtDove and Marge here! The poem Marge wrote IS for the other woman. I am not an advocate of adultery, nor do I condone it.

===================================================
But because we DO try to be helpful here !
Hee-hee-hee !

This Bud's For YOU !  Bud !

My goodness when I saw you
my heart just did a flip !
But if I cheat on my wife one more time -
she promised me an big fat lip !

I owe her my devotion
She's given me her time.
She takes care of the house and kids
and makes sure I look fine.

I used to wonder if she knew
that I was having other yearnings ?
She's brighter than I thought
and she's given me fair warning !

While I am spending time
lusting over you ...
She just might find an honest man
to do what I can't do !

I promised to be faithful
and I am - most of the time !
So I'll just have to let you go
and write my WIFE a rhyme !

There you go !
How's that ?
~*Marge*~
With a capital 'B' !

Hello Scootter

I donít mind giving you a hand to write a poem of any kind within reason, though there would be one condition, whatever you do with it once itís finished is your responsibility.

You might want to check out the main site first though, it could be that the perfect poem has already been written, with that thought in mind it may also be an idea to use a poem by an established or well known poet.

If you do want some help, even if itís only ideas, e-mail me, Iím not very good at writing but Iíll help if I can.

Craig

Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool:
But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet.

Ladies, I've thought and thought and I can't help it, we're judging here without knowledge, maybe we're using our own past or the past of friends...not everything is black or white and no, I don't believe the simple option is to find someone new,  but ...none of us is perfect, we all dream of marriage and a love that lasts forever, it doesn't always work out that way and yes, one should always get out before trying something new but maybe, just maybe, this guy has reasons to stay but still needs to be loved...

You don't have to answer Scootter, but I am interested, mainly because you seemed so honest in your reply or were you simply being blatant?

What do you hope to happen, how do you see the next few months/years?

Either way, I hope, I really hope, you consider the hurt that could eventually arise and the consequences to these actions as well...

Heaven help the backwash of this but not all marriages are made in heaven but some we stay in come hell or high water...

Still loved your poem though Marge..

HUGS

I've been following this thread for a couple of days now and finally feel compelled to say something.

First, I think that Scootter came in here and very courteously asked for a poem. Passions is a place where we invite people to do just that. Second, once he relayed the intent of his poem, the tone of this thread changed.

I think all of the responses in this thread are understandable. People have very strong opinions about marriage vows and adultery, and understandably so. People's opinions are usually a result of a culmination and union of past experiences, upbringing and values. And Passions is definitely a place where we are privileged to express our opinions freely, as long as it is not a "slam" or a personal attack.

Now, I don't think any of the responses in this thread were personal attacks... but i do think that some were somewhat judgemental. And, I'll repeat that this is a touchy subject and it is understandable to have spurred strong opinions. I just think that there is a fine line between expressing strong opinions and being judgemental.

I also have very strong opinions about this subject and would like to express those opinions. This is what I think.... marriage is an ideal institution and the marital vow is sacred. Sometimes it works and when it does, it's fabulous. Those are the lucky people who select a person who ends up being a good match for them. Unfortunately, though, sometimes people find that they have married the "wrong" person for them and spend years being unhappy, just to hold the commitment together because of their value system.

I do not condone "womanizing" and men who make a habit of sleeping around with other women while remaining married. However, I repeat that I believe everybody's situation is different and nobody is in the position to judge. I have experienced two failed marriages, both times choosing a person to marry who wasn't right for me. During both of those marriages, I found myself attracted to other men because my emotional, spiritual and personal needs weren't being met. Although I never had an affair and stuck to my commitment, I did not feel guilty about these attractions. I may be telling all of you much more than you care to know about me, but wanted to give some background as to why I think making any personal judgements isn't fair and in fact, is over stepping boundaries.

Although I do not condone adultery, Scootter's initial request for a poem for a woman he was attracted to was very understandable to me and his manner of presenting it, along with his honesty, I found commendable. All too often, people come to wrong conclusions without enough facts. None of us here know an iota of information about Scootter's life and are not in the position to judge it.

Life is very very short. I do not know if this is the case in this particular instance, but I truly believe that people should not spend their lives miserably trying to maintain a facade of happiness. I also believe that usually attractions outside of marriage happen because the marriage isn't fulfilling, or because the "match" isn't right. (this statement excludes the "womanizer" who i mentioned before who makes adultery a lifestyle). There are literally hundreds of thousands of people in the world and therefore the potential for many mismatches. We are all human and need love, respect and fulfillment....

I hope all who have responded here understand that I am not trying to negate anything anybody said in this thread.... I totally and completely understand emotional responses to this subject. I just think people should take the time to think about how they are phrasing their strong opinions and realize that there is a fine line between expressing them and judging.

Thanks you for listening.

And to Scootter... I suggest you try to write your own poem or search the main site for for one as was suggested by Craig.

There's a poem in all of this somewhere... maybe i will try to write it tonight. I don't mean the poem Scootter is looking for. I am not in the position to write that poem. But somewhere within this topic itself, i think a poem may be waiting to be written.

{{{{{hugs}}}}} to all.

-doreen
