HI! I was just wondering out of curiosity how all you here came upon this site. And all you moderators, how did you get involved? I, myself, just wandered onto it one day, looking around. Glad I did, 'cause now I'm never leaving (Heee. Heee.)
Anyway, just wondering.

Well, Joy, I used to be a huge cyber card fanatic, and I came across a link to Passions while looking for new Card sites. I came here in June and have bugged everyone here ever since...::grins:: As for being a new moderator, I was told that my hard work pretty much made me a moderator, from what I understand. I was approched by Nan and she was gracious enough to offer me the position. It is a great honor and I am very happy to be helping out here.

Well Joy, I came to the Passions main site darn near a year ago. There were 12 or so poems there, all by a man named Ron Carnell. I read them all and loved them, loved the page design as well. I submitted my first poem to Ron within a week of his page being up and have called this place home ever since...one of the proud few who can say they've seen it all right from the start.

I warned Ron he would have the biggest site on the net soon because he was so in touch with the poets. I'm not sure if he believed me then, but I know he does now.

I'm glad to hear you plan on being with us for awhile. There truly is no greater "home" for poets on the net.

Hey Joy! I fell across Passions on accident. I was looking for somewhere to post my poetry after having gone many places. This place was just warm and caring and like no other. I stayed! It is my home and I love it here!
I hope you enjoy this place as much as we have! I started with spiritual poetry, that's mostly what I have written. Therefore I found to my surprise that I was recommended for the job in Spiritual.
I am very honored also to have that position!

Several of us "met" at another site that became a battleground... so those of us not interested in the war were searching for another home. LongJohn found this place and soon Toerag, RainbowGirl, Lorelei54, JTF, Iloveit and I followed. I somehow doubt Ron will ever be desperate enough to make us moderators (well, maybe RG or Lovey *G*)... but it's been a wonderful home we all appreciate very much!

I first met Ron at another forum. He invited me to post a poem on his site, which I did. I posted to the main site and though there was a forum open shortly after that, I never got involved in the 'forum' part of Passions until April '99.

I've been asked to join other forums, post there, but I've always said no. I'm a Passions Poet now. No need to go anywhere else. This is my home.

I was poet-napped - quite voluntarily - shortly after Ron opened Passions. He was visiting other sites where I was posting. It took but a comment or two of his sagacious posts for me to see that he was very special, and I wanted to know him better. We've since built a wonderful friendship that I treasure dearly, and I've done everything I could (that he'd allow) to help him make this site the best on the web. I've never looked back ...

Joy: Suthern told the story that was behind our groups arrival and ROFL @ being desperate...more likely not quite that insane *g*

Anyway, being a brit, I'll say "pleased to meet you"..

A friend of mine, Ladycat, sent me a poem via email that she was sent by another friend. The poetic link led me to www.netpoets.com. I mapped the site and decided to submit a few poems in the buffet. This was back in February, 1999. Then I found the 2 forums and bantered back and forth there, as well as the 'other' forum.

Then, Nan, bless her over-educated hide, told me about the new forums. So I high-tailed over here, back when there were roughly 5-10 members, registered, re-registered, and asked Nan to ask Ron if I could moderate The Alley (after much dithering on my part). I know it's campy, but I thought The Alley by Alicat was kinda cute.

Undergoing a life-style change, I thought I would revert back to penning some poetry...

and luckily at the same time, found this site.

Wouldn't you know, fate and He would lead the way...

I only started reading poetry in late August or early September of this year and started writing shortly after that. I found Passions by browsing and started posting my junk. The moderators, particularly Ruth, Nan and Brad, helped me burn away much of the chaff and now this is the only site I visit ... almost. I even like Brad! I can't wait until I write something he likes!

I have been a long time friend of Nan's and sorta kinda followed her here from another site. (Like a lost little puppy!) I too met Ron on another site and absolutely adored him from the get go.I thought he had vision and integrity, something that I thought was lacking from the "head poet" of the other site! I do think I was correct in my assumption too. I have been here since *almost* the very first day and it is heartening to see how the site has grown! I can't wait to see it in another year.
Happy Writing

WOW! Never thought I'd get that many replies. Maybe one or two, but so far 12! Thanks all!
