Where is the search engine to this site to find information or to look for writers work. I found it once and it helped me find things at forums I was looking for when I used it.

I can't find it now. Please someone tell me how to find it.

I'm not sure if I understand you properly, merlynh - but the Passions main site is full of such information - As far as the forums themselves, We're all still searching for the search... I'm sure it's not a glitch, though...

As the size of the forums grew, it put more and more strain on the server to search through everything. So, until we move to the new server, I've turned off the search features...

Should be back soon, though!

Merlyn, if you are looking for a particular poem or by work written by a particular author, you can click on "search" at the top of the page.... Since Ron has it turned off now, it won't work right now, of course but that's where it's located.

Unfortunately, for some reason it has never worked properly when it's on. Must be some glitch in the software or something.

My software doesn't have glitches! (Yea, right... )

Seriously, it did at one time work properly. Then we started growing. The problem was that on our current server, a cgi program is allowed to run for a maximum of 15 seconds - under the theory it prevents any one web site from hogging the CPU. When we reached a point where the program couldn't process all our Forums in that allotted 15 seconds, it started returning with, uh, less than complete results. Okay - it glitched!

By tomorrow at this time, we'll be on the new server. No 15 second limitation. Ergo, the search feature should work. It still remains to be seen whether it will work correctly, or if it can process all that data in a reasonable time (even if it works properly, if it takes 15 minutes no one will use it - and we're going to have our Lost Forums returned, so it's going to have a BIG job).
