Are Resident Poets allowed to vote for poems by their fellow poets, or are visitors the only ones allowed to cast a vote? Of course I would never vote for one of my own poems, but what about someone elses'? I noticed one poem that I thought was really good and no one's voted for it yet.

As far as I know, you can vote for anything you like. Of course the Management encourages the browsing through all the varied categories and subcategories found on the main Passion's site. Feel free to respond to or to vote for any piece which catches your fancy. However, I think we can vote only once per day...fairer that way, I guess.

As Ali said, you or any other Resident Poet can vote for any poem you like at Passions. And, yes, that even includes your own. After all, if you don't like your work, who will?

Ali, that limitation about voting only once per day is no longer in effect. You can vote as many times a day as you'd like. The only current limitation is that you can vote for the same author only once a day. And that's just to prevent someone from hitting the Vote button 20 or 30 times in a row...

Thank you both-I immediately voted for the poem. One more question-why hasn't my comment been posted?

HELP! Who and what is being voted on, and especially, WHERE? I'd love to punch in my two cents [oh heck, admit inflation] OK, three cents! What do I do, where do I go, etc.? THANKS!

Elizabeth - the main Passions site is a bit more "controlled" than are the forums. I review all of the comments, just as I do the poems, before they are posted. Mostly, I check to make sure the person commenting didn't reference someone by name, like a mutual friend (doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen frequently enough I have to be careful). Your comment will go up on the next update (which should be *real* soon).

Sunshine - If you didn't figure it out from the previous paragraph, we're talking about voting on the poems at the main Passions site. All of the several thousand poems have a "Vote" button in the Response Panel (at the foot of the poem) where you can vote and submit comments about the poem. It's not that much different than what we do in the forums. Except it doesn't happen instantly and it lasts a lot longer (I hesitate to say forever ). Every month (when I get a bit more caught up), we try to give the poet with the most votes a little something, just to show our support for their work. Truth is, though, the comments mean more to most of them than anything I can do for them! So -- like go vote for something!

Ron: Ah Ha! [So many things to do, places to be!] I hadn't been through that area [yet], so no wonder I was curious and sooo unknowing. Thanks for answering what could be a "stupid" question.
