he rages, shouting into open air,
he does not comprehend this emotion,
hot and thick, it bubbles and boils,
seeps over raw edges, simmering,
till something, someone, himself,
creates ample friction,
escalating temperatures,
that build upon the pressure...

then, one word, one look, one gesture,
one impercieved interaction,
and he can no longer contain the force within,
he acts and reacts instinctively,
without reason,
without thought of consequense,
he wants only to dispel the burdening,
compressed too tightly,
he does so in impetuous smoky singes,
billowing, threatening blasts,

though it is always
he
who gets burned.

Is this another one about cars (and their associated problems)? (j/k) Or does it belong in Adult maybe? Or maybe I'm way off base here

Oh Pete, dear Pete...

LOL LOL LOL LOL Just gotta love ya.

No, I had absolutely no intentions leaning in that direction, but now that you've brought it up, I think I can see where you might have gotten that idea!

Morning, Kris.

Beddy beddy innerestink ... (doing my best Freud, which is not at all good)

Good job on building up the angst in stanza one, but I was rubbed a bit wrong by the switch from liquid to solid imagery – you begin by bubbling and boiling and simmering, all of which is consistent, but I've yet to find a liquid which is susceptible to "friction." *wink*

My WP seems to think that ‘impercieved' is a typo ... Doesn't like ‘consequense' either.

Last bit was good; wrapped it up well.

Linda,

Thanks for reading, and for your comments.

With "friction, I was attempting to create"
sparks, which would in turn cause the liquid to become even more volitile...to the point where an "ill-percieved interaction" (thank-you) could cause it to explode into a fury of anger.

I can see now the typo on consequence...thanks for spotting that too.

I sincerely appreciate your reading and your help...thanks again ,

Kris
