Of all the guys I've known, Jameson you have been the one who deranged my heart the most,
and of all the guys I've loved, now I can hardly say I know them, but I can say I loved them all the same.
If we knew eachother when we were teenagers that hardly counts at all, because people change so fast and love gets lost.
Now Evan lives in the Bay Area, he's selling records there and Ricks an alcoholic, to say the least.
Do you know that song by the Goo Goo Dolls, the one about your name? And the man who so many times promises that he won't tell it to anyone. I heard you sing it once, at Hume Lake summercamp. You liked girls with perfect teeth, but I had braces.

Swan,

I do like this version alot better.  In your first posting, the opening statement was out of place, I thought.  I like the way you said that people do change as they  transition from teenagers to adults
(do we ever!)instead of saying that you didn't want to admit things had changed.

The last few line of this poem express, I think, a bittersweet nostalgia.  Isn't it just like human nature to hang on to an idea like this one for so long...and then drag it as a jibe (of sorts) to let the person know how much it hurt way back when?  This is   really good.  It says quite a bit about the kids who were and the adults that they now are.
