The evening was calm
Yet bright out
The darkness wove around
Us like a cape
NO NO NO NO
“YOU’RE NOT VERY GOOD AT THIS ARE YOU?”
“me”
“YES YOU WHO DO YOU THINK I’M TALKING TO”
“Who are you?”
“WHAT DO YOU THINK I AM, I’M A POEM”
“How can you be talking to me?”
“BECAUSE CLEARLY YOU’RE NOT TALKING TO ME!”
“huh”
“OH FORGET IT, YOU’RE USELESS”
“No I want to learn”
“YOU WANT TO LEARN TO WRITE A POEM
OR DO YOU WANT TO LEARN TO BE A POET”
“I guess just to write a poem”
“WELL YOU’VE DONE WELL SO FAR”
“are you being sarcastic?”
“DOES IT MATTER?”
“Yeh I want to know if I can actually do this”
“YOU’VE ALREADY DONE IT”
“How”
“I DON’T KNOW HOW, I JUST KNOW WHAT”
“What, what?”
“WHAT? OH YOU’RE WAY TOO EXHAUSTING”
“I’m not the one who’s got a problem”
“WELL YOU MIGHT WANT TO GET A SECOND OPINION”
“Screw you, I can write”
“I KNOW YOU CAN, WHY DO YOU THINK I’M HERE”
“Then why are you criticising me?”
“BECAUSE YOU NEEDED A PUSH OF EXCITEMENT”
“I don’t know what you are talking about, leave me alone”
‘FINE WITH ME, LET ME GO THEN”
“How?”
“IF I HAD TWO DOLLARS EVERY TIME I HEARD THAT!”
“You’re a real smart ass you know”
“TAUGHT BY THE BEST”
“Fine. Here….The End”
“Are you gone now?”
“I WAS UNTIL YOU SPOKE UP AGAIN”
“Aww, you’re annoying

I thought this piece was pretty funny. I had a moment of question when the ALL CAPS identified himself as A POEM, it took me a minute to get used to the poem speaking, but once I did I liked the light toned conversation of this piece. All caps makes me think that the poem is either yelling (which is what I thought at first) or speaking in an omniscient from-the-clouds type voice (which is what I finally decided on). I don't know if this is what you were hoping for, but I thought I'd let you know the effect that the format had on my perception.
