Tell me children, what is love?
Does it abide in little paths
Adorned with mossy gloves?

Or is it freshened meadow wilds,
With swaying rainbow blossoms?

Yet greenwood trees say love to me
I hear a merry note,
Of scarlet birds and whistling words
From cheery dulcet throats.

Yes love is this and so much more,
A rocky crag, a sunlit shore,
All glorious and winsome.

Now spread your wings my dewy babes,
And seek your calling pleasure.
Do your work with joy and pour,
Loves boundless gift, our treasure.

Capt what a joyous poem to bid my day farewell and waft sweet perfumed dreams through my aching mind.....

Ohh the idea of the chief fairy dispensing the lesson on love to the little fairies and then sending them out into the world is so delicious ... and your word choice is so light and airy .. just like a fairy.

Liked in particular:

"Mossy gloves"  did you mean foxgloves .. they are mossy inside the petals ..

"dewy babes"

A poem to gladden the heart Captain C ... makes me feel Spring is just round the next Oak tree ..... and that is WHY i liked it.....

Tra la la ..

Cap,
Sounds nice but just a bit too winsome for my taste. Actually, I can put up with fairies in poetry if you expand on some of their traits, make them more complex than what you've got going here. Play around with some of the ideas here and see what happens (what about a fairy mafia?)

Cap,
Brad has a right to his opinion, but he needs soften that rough exterior a bit.
I thought this was delightful...fairies, flowers, love, birds and trees. Never heard of a greenwood tree, though. Now, dogwoods, with their floating blossoms...
Anyway, I know you meant this to be a light, airy, and beautiful, and you succeeded.
Nice job, Cap

Brad, Fairy Mafia?? Hmmmm, no I don't think so.

Now , if you had said "Biker Fairies from Beta Reticuli"... maybe.

Hey Cap, I'm with the majority here. This is delightfully light and cheerful. I can't point to any specific thing which makes me like it other than the general feeling it leaves me with.

Well done.
