Hello everyone, I just wanted to let anyone who is interested know that Blue Mountain Arts is having a POETRY CONTEST. They are awarding four first place winners with $300 each, four second place winners with $150 each and eight third place winners with $50. The deadline to enter is February 20, 2000, so you still have a week to enter. It will take them a few months to read all the poetry entered and then they will award the prizes. Go to www.bluemountain.com and scroll down until you see the heading ARTS AND LITERATURE, and then click on the sub-heading "winning poetry", the rules and regulations and more detailed information is there for you. You can enter as many poems as you like, so you could for example, end up winning first place and third place prizes if your poems are good enough. They want poetry on family, love, friendship, universal truths, holidays, odes to special people, occasions, how to achieve your dreams and encouraging poems. The poems can be rhyming or non-rhyming, free verse or sonnets. It will only take a few minutes to enter your poem and your personal information, so good luck to all! I have read some of the previous winners poems and many of them do not even compare to your poems here, so I am sure that many of you will win a cash prize.
