So abysmally bestial and provoked
benevolence turned its back and ran
away from this peevish creature
forever sitting, stationary waiting for
fortune and luck to lightly rap at
the door or breeze by casually
only needing a momentary glimpse
of contentment, but never receiving it
pain materializes and slowly drips
down the cheek of this morose human
fists clench tighter than ever
thought possible and fly at walls
tears roll incessantly and spreading
their salty misery over taut and worn flesh
limbs fly, lashing out at the
world for all the pain it has inflicted
neverending torture, unbearable misery
in one trusty shot out of a cold
barrel, the world bows down and clenches the dusty bottom of a long
trenchcoat

 compressed paper burns less easily

lily: i absolutely LOVE the last two lines... disturbing though they may be, i simply adore them... the imagery you use is quite good, though i did have a bit of trouble discerning where one thought stopped and another one started... also, perhaps i'm ill-informed, but i dont understand the fist-pounding-wall imagery there... is it meant to be completely symbolic (in the form of "lashing out") or does it have some literal significance as well?

sincerely,
jerome the boy with no brain

A savage place! as holy and enchanted
As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover!
~Coleridge
