We were eight
Diamond studded girls
Big hair Big attitude
Divas
in centrifugal fusion
Kicking off the day
the aches
the shoes
Laughing in time
to worn INXS
Wet Wiggling
black vinyl troubadours
on oak parquet
Glittering
borrowed lights
DUI UFO's
over the Walt Whitman Bridge

We were Jersey Girls
making it 80's style
Making it
bigger.

Ugh.  This was a picture best left unpainted.  Big hair and INXS.  Man, to think I lived through that!

Still, your words evoke strong images.  Why do I feel a sudden urge to dig up my Queen CD?

Another nice one, Haze.

Haze,
Just listened to Hall and Oats the other day.
this was good...the imagery excellent. It did, however, make me thankful that i've matured.

Well, I'm glad the big hair is gone but I still enjoy the INXS on occasion (brings back memories of a certain drunken trip to New York).  I'm not sure what you mean by the last line of the poem -- it just sort of seems 'there' if you know what I mean.  Still, a very good poem about a time when I had long hair too.    Actually, it was a time when I had hair.

Thank you much warmhrt...We are all thankful to have matured...Trust Me...Well some, maybe not (I do know a few)

Brad...thank you first...second, the 80's were all about high fashion and high attitude, just being high without the 70's soul...(for us anyway) and being big, livin' large et al...I posted the rest of this series in the adult forum because of language and general content...have a go round if you like...you'll see...Thanks again...

haze, your gift is the ability to create an image in the reader's mind. You got me again with this one. Its fun and not necessarily nastalgic.....thanks
