The mountain stands in majestic glory
towering over lakes and pines
snow resides on it's frozen peaks
and boulders ring it's sides

From a distance this mountain seems
immobile and forever there
but look closer and closer yet
this mount is changing year by year

Always moving, forever changing
not from day to day the same
like the lives of all the people
no matter their heritage or name

From a distance our lives seem steady
not so, a closer look would say
always moving, forever changing
and we live on from day to day

Other than some rough rhyme in the first two stanzas, this piece is quite well-written.
