I think I found it
somehow
you've entered me
behind voices of wheat fields and maple leaves
where circles bring me back
settling into summer in Wisconsin
the taste of wet
red in my mouth

suddenly there is so much more to lose
and you are farther away then I imagined
searching for your touch in words
wrapping around me in little sighs
comfort in the escape of your breath

so we wait
for money and time and release
and it's the future - our future I eat
like the ripe fruit of your laughter
sustaining me
while you are in Wisconsin
and I am in pain
