The sunset’s in your eyes, Throwing away all ties To this mortal plane. My god, I’m going insane. Driven there by your hair The chestnut locks, My heart, it knocks Then beats and pounds Oh, just to hear your voice, To hear the sounds- No matter the words Like fluttering birds Flying away from me, Too far to see. Leaving behind Only the memory Of the lyrical melody, Forever in my mind. Even in my dreams There love gleams, Not as clear as life But we’re together And no strife. Hand in hand we walk, Nonchalant we talk Almost too glad to wake, But true happiness Dreams do not make. Contentment shall not be mine, No emotion so divine Until I can hold you in my arms And truly say, "No alarms And no surprises." This I realize Every time I look Into your eyes. |
